3 Doors Down gained popularity at the turn of the millennium for its anthemic, grunge-influenced alternative rock.

3 Doors Down formed in Escatawpa, Miss. in 1996, and originally consisted of Brad Arnold (lead vocals and drums), Matt Roberts (lead guitar), Todd Harrell (bass) and Chris Henderson (rhythm guitar). Greg Upchurch later assumed drumming duties, enabling Arnold to step out as frontman.

3 Doors Down's debut studio album, 2000's The Better Life, featured the band's signature hit "Kryptonite" as well as the singles "Loser" and "Duck and Run." Subsequent LPs like Away from the Sun, Seventeen Days and Time of My Life experienced varying degrees of commercial success.
