  • Years Active
    2006 - 2012
LMFAO gained international fame with a series of modern-day party anthems blending elements of pop, hip-hop and electronic dance music.

LMFAO - uncle and nephew Stefan Kendal Gordy, also known as Redfoo, and Skyler Austen Gordy, a.k.a. SkyBlu, both relatives of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. - first broke through in 2008 with the hit single "I'm in Miami, Bitch," a showcase for the duo's catchy melodies, playful lyrics and infectious beats. LMFAO's debut album, 2009's Party Rock, spawned several more successful singles, including "La La La" and "Shots" featuring Lil Jon.

LMFAO's sophomore effort, 2011's Sorry for Party Rocking, featured the lead single "Party Rock Anthem." Its iconic shuffle dance became a viral sensation, propelling the song to the top of the charts in numerous countries. "Sexy and I Know It" further pushed electronic music into the pop mainstream, but in 2012 LMFAO announced an indefinite hiatus to allow both Redfoo and SkyBlu to pursue solo projects.
