Stuart Mathis is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the rock band The Wallflowers, with whom he has recorded six studio albums. He has also released two solo albums, "Stuart Mathis" (2007) and "Frazier Park" (2012).

Mathis was born in Colorado in 1968. He began playing guitar at a young age and quickly developed a passion for music. He moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s to pursue a career in music. In 1992, he met Jakob Dylan and Rami Jaffee, who were also looking to start a band. The three musicians formed The Wallflowers and released their debut album, "The Wallflowers," in 1992. The album was a critical and commercial success, spawning the hit singles "6th Avenue Heartache" and "One Headlight."

The Wallflowers went on to release five more studio albums, all of which were successful. In 2005, the band took a hiatus, and Mathis released his first solo album, "Stuart Mathis." He also toured extensively in support of the album. In 2012, The Wallflowers reunited and released their sixth studio album, "Glad All Over." The band has continued to tour and record in recent years.

In addition to his work with The Wallflowers, Mathis has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, and Ben Harper. He has also written and recorded music for film and television.
