Gary L. Coleman

Gary Lynn Coleman was an American percussionist known for his remarkable contributions to the recording industry and TV work. Born in Jeanette, PA, in 1936, he later moved to California in 1947 and attended H.S. in Alhambra.
After military service in the 5th Infantry Division Band in Germany, Gary pursued his passion for music, studying at Cal State L.A. and teaching in public schools. In 1965, he entered the recording industry as a percussionist, thanks to Carol Kaye's influence. His successful studio career at Capitol Records continued until the late seventies.
In the mid-70s, Gary shifted to TV work, collaborating with composer Mike Post on various shows until 1991. Throughout the nineties, he contributed to TV and movie scores, often working with Jerry Goldsmith.
