Thomas "Beans" Bowles was an American musician and producer who worked primarily with Motown/Tamla beginning in the 1960s. He has recorded alongside artists like Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, and The Supremes.

Bowles is credited with helping to shape a young Motown by suggesting that its new acts need more direction, professionalism, and polish, something that Berry Gordy Jr. paid attention to. In addition to this, Bowles also suggested bus tours, and went on tour with the new acts to ensure their safety and success.

Sometimes regarded as an 'unsung hero', Bowles was apparently the go-to at Motown during its formative years with praise coming from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Smokey Robinson.
