Yeah Yeah Yeahs

    2000 - Now
Yeah Yeah Yeahs' union of garage rock, punk and art-rock crossed over from the New York City underground to the pop mainstream in 2003 with the release of the trio's signature hit, "Maps."

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - vocalist Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase - formed in New York in 2000. They first attracted attention opening for acts like the Strokes and the White Stripes, touring the U.S. with Girls Against Boys and trekking across Europe with the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion before headlining their own British tour. Yeah Yeah Yeahs' unpredictable live performances quickly became the stuff of legend, highlighted by Karen O's aggressive stage presence and daring fashion choices.

Fever to Tell, Yeah Yeahs Yeahs' Interscope Records debut, received several strong critical reviews and sold more than 750,000 copies worldwide, bolstered by the impassioned "Maps" (an MTV staple and Top 20 hit in the U.K.) as well as "Date with the Night," offered as a downloadable track for the popular video game series Rock Band. Yeah Yeah Yeahs continued to release new music in the years to follow, exploring a wide range of styles and genres.
