The Wallflowers

The Wallflowers are an American rock band led by singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan, who emerged from the shadow of his father, musical legend Bob Dylan, with the Grammy-winning "One Headlight."

Dylan, the Wallflowers' sole constant member over the years, formed the group in Los Angeles in 1989, honing a style and sound rooted in influences including rock, folk, Americana and blues. The Wallflowers' self-titled Virgin Records debut sold poorly, but a reconstituted lineup landed at Interscope to record a follow-up with producer T-Bone Burnett, and Dylan made the most of the opportunity: in addition to "One Headlight," the 1996 album Bringing Down the Horse yielded the hit "6th Avenue Heartache," and ultimately sold more than four million copies.

Dylan further advanced his reputation for crafting melodic and emotionally resonant rock songs with the Wallflowers' third album, 2000's darker, more introspective (Breach). The album failed to match the commercial success of Bringing Down the Horse, however, and in the wake of 2005's Rebel, Sweetheart, the group went on hiatus, and Dylan launched a solo career. The Wallflowers reunited in 2012 for Glad All Over, and continue to record and tour.
